How long does Mounjaro® stay in your system? What the label's half-life means
General information, not medical advice. Talk to your prescriber or pharmacist about your own treatment.
The Mounjaro® label gives tirzepatide an elimination half-life of about 5 days. What a half-life is, and why Traxsy's medication-level chart is an estimate, not a blood level.
The US prescribing information for Mounjaro® (tirzepatide) gives an elimination half-life of approximately 5 days, which is why it is taken once a week. The Zepbound® label, for the same medicine, gives approximately 5 to 6 days in people with overweight or obesity.
A half-life is the time it takes for the amount of a medicine in the body to fall by half. Label figures are averages from the people who were studied, so the numbers describe a typical pattern rather than your own body.
Traxsy's medication-level chart applies published label parameters to the doses you log and draws an estimated curve. It is an estimate, not a blood level, and it can't measure how your body handles the medicine. Don't use it to decide when or how much to take: follow your prescription, and ask your prescriber or pharmacist about timing, missed doses or side effects.
